Chickens

Ever since Kelton was about 5, we have talked about wanting a chicken coop with a bunch of chickens, fresh eggs etc. When we first moved into our home, Jim, Mckell and family brought us some chickens. Kelton named them Gilbert, Bob, and Bill. I teased him since they are girls, and he gave them boy names. He said he didn't care, those names "fit" them. I began to save egg cartons for the soon to be eggs. Kelton checked every day, some days twice... no eggs. After a couple months, we started asking IFA, and other "farmers" what to feed our chickens to get them to lay eggs. Late November, we realized all the chickens were male..... hence the no eggs. I guess Kelton "knew" they were male. haha. An old friend of Shad's stopped by just after the New Year bearing a gift of a hen. Kelton began checking again every day.... And look!

I took the boys to IFA the other day to get a few more. Here are our new little babies. They should be female, but if not, oh well. As Sammy told the employee there, that "our chickens were boys and dad killeded em and we ated em."

Christmas

I love Christmas. Who doesn't? I love the spirit of giving. People seem so much more happy, and loving at this time of year. We spent Christmas Eve with the Johnson clan. Christmas day Grandma and Grandpa Johnson came over to watch the boys open, then we went to Springville to hang with the Wall family. Good times, good memories. I am so thankful for the Birth of Christ, and that we are able to live here now, and have what we do. I love my family, and my job, and I love chilling with my family on Christmas.

Christmas Eve Nativity

Mickey and Minnie mouse came to the Johnson party this year to help us remember Grandma Great and gave all the grandkids a $2.00 bill like she used to.

I thought this was hilarious. Kelton was excited, but could wait, and Sam was dying to come down the stairs Christmas morning,

I WIN!!!!

I feel almost better about WINNING than the money. For real. It's nice to know that the judge listened to what I said and to be validated that we got taken. LOVE LOVE LOVE winning! I am a Lynden Lion. and that's what I do.

Setting: Sunday afternoon, family gethered together for post baby blessing (which was wonderful) lunch. Amy inside helping prepare the lunch. Shad outside with many nieces and nephews playing.
Shad is pulling the rope swing with Kelton in it. Kelton goes really really high. Sam runs in front of Kelton's swinging rope swing. BANG
"aunt Amy! Sam is bleeding!"
"ok"
"no, Amy, he's bleeding bad!"

Sam ran in front of the swing, and Shad didn't have time to react, nor did Kelton. the swing/Kelton hit Sam, and he went flying onto the concrete. I am so thankful for all the quick help we received by both family and medical staff.
Sam was put into unconscious sedation, and when he was coming out, we looked like:
Shad-an indian
Amy-weird with lots of eyes
Kelton-not kelton
A long emotional day, but all is well at the Johnson's home. My boys sure love each other.
whilst in the hospital Kelton climbed onto the bed with Sam:
"Sam, I am so sorry I hit you"
"it's ok Kelton, it's ok" while he pats his big brothers tummy...
