What a week
The other day while feeding Sam, I needed to run to the bathroom, surprise-surprise, and this is what I came back to! Kelton is such a great helper.
Yesterday we had Sam's 6 month check-up (yes, a week early) and he is doing great. He came in at 15 lbs 14 oz, and 28 1/2 inches long. His head measured a bit big, so the dr. measured it again to double check. I don't know what it would mean to have a big head, but when he measured, it was a bit smaller than the nurse measurement and fell in the "normal" range. He got his sad little shots, and poked and prodded. I don't think it would have been so terrible if he wasn't still throwing up and pooping so much.
As you all know, we have been really sick in this house. I got it two weeks ago for a couple days, then felt fine. Sat. night after Grandma Johnson's Easter party we got home and Sam puked all over Shad. I thought it was quite funny, until an hour later he did it on me. He proceeded to throw up 4 more times throughout the night. I woke up Shad sometime in the wee hours of the morning because I was starting to puke too. He told me he felt sick as well. We spent all of Easter taking turns sleeping and cleaning up Sam's vomit. Then Kelton started in in the afternoon. I don't know what this bug is, but it has been nasty. Kelton was finally better by Wed. morning enough to go to school. Shad has a horrible cold now and his voice is so low it is hardly audible. Sam has had the runs since Sunday night. I have tried giving him soy milk and he just pukes it right up. Yesterday I was feeding him and felt that his pants were wet. I knew he had pooped, but wanted to finish feeding him his bottle, since he hasn't been eating much lately. I took off his diaper and there was crap all over his leg, and all the way up to his neck. Oh, the happiness of being a mom. He is doing better, still puking a couple times a day, but he hasn't pooped since the nasty one yesterday. Hooray!
Enough of that. I have pictures from Grandma Johnson's Easter party, but nothing from Sunday.:( While the kids colored Easter eggs, Shad, Mark, Shonte' and I all went to see On Golden Pond at the Pleasant Grove Theater. I was so proud of Shad for going, and we really liked it. I had to put that in there, so you can tease him when you get a chance.

2 Miletstones in 1 week!
First milestone: Kelton has officially slept in his bed for 14 nights! He has now earned a new comforter for his bed. I am so proud he has finally accomplished this. I know he is 8, and he should have been doing this for a long time, and I have been a horrible mom letting him sleep upstairs for so long. It is totally my fault he has had such a hard time doing this. BUT, he has done it, and is totally pumped to decorate his "sporty" room.
Second milestone: Sam has officially rolled over. He has been really close for a while, but didn't really seem to have a desire to do it. He is such a chilled out little boy and was totally content to just lay on his back. We would show him toys that he really wanted and put them just out of reach, but he looked at it and thought "nah, I don't need it that bad". Last Tuesday, mind you this is the ONLY day I physically go to Sandy to work, he rolled over at Grandma Johnson's house. I totally freaked out. I didn't want him to do it without me there. I swear I wasn't going to miss any of his "firsts". I was so distraught the rest of the day when mom said he rolled. I think she could sense my sadness, and told me it was probably an accident that he did it. Sure enough, Tuesday night, he did it at home too..so it wasn't an accident. Now he does it when he is wide awake and full, but if he is sleepy at all, it's a no go. He hates being on his tummy, so once he rolls, he really wants to be back where he was. I know this isn't a huge milestone, but because I missed everything with Kelton, it is really important that I am here for all of Sam's.
Last thing for today is a BIG HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MOM AND DAD JOHNSON! THE BIG 60! When I type it, it seems like a typo and can't be right, but there it is Johnson's. SIXTY BIG ONES. The count down is on for medicare.
