Kelton, Kelton, Kelton

Saturday Kelton and Shad went fishing with uncle Kevin in his boat. Shad didn't catch a thing, but Kev did, and he let Kelton reel it in. I packed the camera and told Shad a million times to take pictures on the lake, and when they got home, he said they didn't take any. Come to find out, Kelton didn't have a life jacket on, and that would be why no pictures were taken. He knew I would flip out. We ate fish for dinner on Sunday and Kelton liked it!

Saturday night Kelton woke up with a tummy ache and was up most of the night. He seemed fine on Sunday and Monday, then last night it hit again. I figured it was gas or #2 issues. He moaned and cried from 1:30-4 when I finally asked him if he wanted to go in to the hospital and he said yes. I couldn't believe it. It's normally like pulling tooth and nail to get him to the Doc, so when he said yes, I got ready to go. We tried instacare, but of course they were still closed, so we made our way to the hospital. He moaned and cried the whole way there, I felt so bad. We were taken back pretty quick, an IV put in, and they drew some blood. The doctor was worried it may be appendicitis and wanted to have him rechecked later in the day. We went back a few hours ago, and everything looks OK. Hopefully nothing more will come of it. They say it will get worse and by tomorrow he will be in massive pain if that's what it is. He is doing a ton better now, and hasn't gotten a fever. So, thanks for your prayers, and thanks Grandma Johnson for getting Sam at 6:30 this morning from Shad. Here are a couple pictures of the IV tubing. Kelton was so brave when they put it in, he didn't even flinch. He said it felt weird, but didn't hurt super bad.

Another day for the Johnson's

Yes, Sam can hold his own bottle. I don't know how I feel about this milestone, I would rather feed him myself, it gives me time just to stare at him. He thinks he is so hot stuff when he does it on his own, so we negotiated an every other feeding.
Not a lot of excitement at our house lately, but if you aren't family of mine (cause if you are you already know) you need to check out these blogs... Eli turned 4 and was enthused about his cake, and Cooper turned 5 and received some golf clubs...

K, so the links didn't work, look at Ben and Matts to the right there.

I AM BETTY CROCKER

Shad and I received a bread maker 10 years ago. We used it quite a bit at first, but I haven't used it in probably 3 years (maybe more). The other day, I was cleaning and thought hmmmm, homemade bread sounds really good. That night, Shad mentioned the same thing. So, the next day I went to the store and picked out a box of cinnamon raisin and set it on the counter. Shad saw it and said "oh, when are you going to make the bread?" I told him, one day he would come home from work and would smell the delicious bread and if he was lucky, there would be some left to eat. Three days went by with that box of bread staring at me. I finally decided Friday was a good day. I purposefully did it in the morning so I could be all alone at the house when it was finished, and therefore, would be the one who gets the "best" part of the bread, namely, the middle. I put all the ingredients in, pushed the button, and waited 3 hours and 45 minutes for it. I heard it beep every once in a while, and could smell the wonderful scent, then, when it was finally done, I waited just a bit to let it cool down. When I opened the top, this is what I found.

This is exactly what it looked like when I put it in the darn thing! It's just harder and darker. Shad came home and could smell it, when he opened the lid, he started laughing, "that's Amy for ya, what a cook!". I have no idea what happened. I don't think I snapped down the inside container hard enough, so the mixer wasn't getting turned. I don't know, I don't even know if I should try it again. If I can't make a loaf of MACHINE bread, what can I do? Shonte', my sister in law, is always making homemade breads or some gourmet meal. Once, when I went by she was whipping up wheat muffins. She even cracked the wheat for crying out loud! I swore when I started working from home more, I would try to do all those great homemade meals. I do enjoy cooking, and would love to do it more, I just need a lot of money to burn trying to get it right. I bought cookie dough through Kelton's school for a fundraiser, and kid you not, I undercooked the first two batches, then burned one. That left me with one whole batch. That was a great twelve dollars spent.

On a lighter note, Sam loves to be sung to. I received the itsy bitsy spider as a gift and it is now his favorite song and book. The pictures are so colorful and it's the perfect size for him to hold. Thought thses pictures were sweet.

Wimp?

I went for my weekly visit to mom's last week and once again Sam got beat up by his GIRL cousin, Addie, who is only 2 weeks older. Everyone says that she is rolling all over and practically crawling because she is a girl. However, I am thinking my son is already a wimp. I swore I was going to make this little one a tough guy. What am I doing wrong? He still hates his tummy for more than 10 minutes, and will only roll when naked. Back to grandmas: they were on the floor together smiling, then she attacked. He started screaming, when we looked over, she was totally on top of him, with blood coming down his cheek. I shouldn't laugh, but it was pretty funny. She is 19 pounds to his almost 16, and definitely a loving little girl. For the rest of the time someone had to be holding Sam to keep him "safe".

Poor Ben and Brit were in Hawaii at the time, so Blake and Eli were at grandma's house too, so here are the pictures of them.

Time for bed.

A new toy! Grandma Johnson bought this for Sam the other day, and he has been in heaven. He has been wanting to be held standing up constantly the last week or so, and after a day at Grandmas she bought this. What a cheeseball.

Erica sent Sam this food holder thing for Easter. I don't know what it's called, but you can put some fruit or whatever in it and let the babes go to town. The other night we put some cantelope in it and he ate 2 whole pieces.

Shad had a great idea of letting Sam sit by the front door to look outside. The other day I caught Kelton giving a little help.

Outside with daddy.
