oh memories

i was thinking i needed to update my playlist, when i had a great idea of who to look up....i can't tell you the sadness i had when i heard they weren't real. but seriously were they not the hottest men alive. i can't express the love, the deep happiness, the giddy school girl in love feeling, i have right now in my heart.

can you see my little man's teeth?
Before last weeks camping trip:
"Mom, what are those things that you put in your mouth that are kinda salty, that you break open and eat?"
"sunflower seeds?"
"Yeah, sunflower seeds. Can you get some of those for our camping trip?"
"Sure"

After the trip, we all sat in the backyard eating sunflower seeds out of a ziplock on a blanket with Sam...

"Kelton, will you throw that blanket from outside in the wash? I just started the washing machine."

...and this is what i get for not doing it myself...

Camping with Dad

Shad and Kelton went camping Thursday night through Saturday. They had a great time. I was wondering if Kelton would actually make it two nights without me :). He got a bit cold Thursday night, Friday night, Shad woke up to Kelton trying to scoot down to the bottom of the sleeping bag. Shad asked him what he was doing and he pointed to the bottom corner and said, "I want to go down there." Shad asked again, why are you doing that? His response: "I want to go down there". Shad wasn't sure if he was even awake, but supposedly Kelton remembers it. I thought that was pretty funny. On a tangent, the first time Shad and I went camping it was freezing. I remember we got in the cab of the truck to sleep. I had a very vivid dream that the neighboring campers knocked on the window in the early morning and offered Shad a 32 oz. hot chocolate, and they gave me a little 8 oz cup of ice water. When I woke up, I was curled on the floor freezing, and Shad was laying on the seat with a blanket. Still to this day, I will never forget how real that dream was, and what it meant. Makes me wonder if Kelton was just trying to get some blankets. Friday afternoon I saw the air mattress pump in the corner of the living room. I was laughing out loud thinking of the two of them blowing up the queen size air mattress by mouth. Kelton found a great digging place, whatever that means. He brought his bird books to try and identify some species. They went four wheeling, looked for antler sheds, fishing, and played a little catch. Kelton had a great time, he is already planning the next trip.

What the

What do you get when Sam sleeps from 10 at night, until 6 in the morning? You get Amy like she has just had 2 liters of caffeine. He did it! Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday night he woke up around 3, I stuck a bink in his mouth ,untangled his legs from the slats in the crib, made a bottle, and by then he was back out without even eating. I guess he wasn't really that hungry. I woke up about 5:30 this morning with a panicky feeling since I hadn't heard him yet. I went and took a peek at him, and sure enough we was snoring away! I am so happy to have finally hit this milestone.

Happy late mothers day to all the mothers out there reading this. I want to say how incredibly grateful I am for my mom and for the 33 years she has put up with me. I know I am not the easiest person ever, and I love being close to her now. I am also thankful for my great mother in law. You hear horror stories of mother in laws, but I don't understand where those people are coming from. I couldn't have asked for a more compassionate and cool one.

Kelton only has two more weeks left of school, then on to 3rd grade already. I can't believe how time flies. He and Shad are leaving after school today to go camping. Kelton had to "practice" sleeping on the queen air mattress the other night just to make sure he would be ok sleeping on it in the mountains. I think it was really an excuse not to go down to his room. After a short spell on it myself, I wonder why we don't just put it up in our room and sleep on that instead of our princess full size bed. He is so excited to go with Shad and explore. I am excited to hear the stories about it and actually see how long he lasts up there.

His first sippy cup.

This was last week, before the 2nd tooth cut. You need to look close. Yes, that is food in his mouth.

Hopefully not too filthy for you to look at,brothers in the bath.

Whoever thought of these "blank" crackers must have been a grandma---laughing. Thanks grandma Wall, and thanks to Shad for giving it to Sam and walking away.

After Sunday dinner at Grandma and Grandpa Wall's tonight, we made a little pit stop to feed the ducks and falcons in Springville. It was fun.

The attack once again. lol. Addie looks months older than Sam. I don't know if it's because of the hair or the obvious leaps and bounds (literally) she is ahead of him. The only claim he has is his eating abilities.

TOOTH!

I am proud to announce the arrival of Sam's first tooth. This week has been kind of rough with the boys. Kelton has been to hospital, the doctor, and to insta-care. While Sam has had what I thought to be a nasty cold and has been a bit cross. On Thursday night I thought I felt a tooth on Sam's lower gum, but wasn't sure. Friday it popped through! Hence, the nasty nose. I haven't been able to take a picture of it yet, he won't open without sticking his tongue out. I will be sure to put one up when I can get him to work with me.

Kelton is feeling a lot better, hopefully all is well with his belly. He hasn't said anything about it hurting today, so this is a great start. I am so thankful that I can be home with the boys for this. I know it is corny, but I am glad that I am the one here to hear the sadness and try to make it better. When I was working away from the home it was always so hard when Kelton was sick and I had to drop him off somewhere else. I always knew he was being taken care of, but I wanted to be the one to make it better. It has been a draining week, but one I wouldn't give back for anything. I love my boys.
