The pinewood derby has now become the rocket derby. I don't know if this is happening everywhere, or just around here. It was a good change. Last year, Kelton took 6th out of 6 in every race. This year it was his year. He worked on it all by himself, including the sanding and painting. Shad helped with the gluing, and Grandpa Johnson helped get the rubber bands (with a little oil or something) and other parts assembled. He took 3rd overall (but I think his was way faster than the 1st and 2nd...) Thanks to Grandparents, Gavin, and Addie who came to watch (race 3 times in 2 hours)event.

The rocket derby sounds like fun. I'll have to find out more when I'm there and share it with our leaders for a possible change next year. We still have the Klondike derby. Oh and the bronze drink...great idea! I'll be sharing that one too ;)
